Day 2: ATHENS – CRETE

Our driver will meet you at the hotel at 06.30 to transfer you at Athens airport to get the flight to Heraklion Crete departing at 08.30 and arriving at 09.20.
Stop At: Knossos Archaeological Site, Knosos, Heraklion, Crete 714 09 Greece
Our local driver will pick you up from the Heraklion airport and go for a Private tour at the Palace of Knossos, the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion. Walking tour at the old city and ancient market of Heraklion. Day 3: CRETE

Next our stop will be at the picturesque Kournas Lake that is the ideal place for a daytrip. Kournas Lake is lying in a small valley among mountains and high hills. Our next stop will be at the Arkadi Monastery, as it is the most historic monastery of Crete and it has been designated by UNESCO. We will reach at the most traditional village in Crete. This village is well known for its pottery and it is called “Margarites”. Being the most important center of ceramics industry in Crete this is the must-see. Margarites, is a village with Venetian roots, mentioned by sixteenth-century travelers. It is so beautiful to stroll around this very charming narrow street of the villages. We will transfer you to Heraklion port to take the ferry departing at 08.40, in order to reach at Santorini at 10.25.

Day 9: ATHENS

Our driver will pick up from your hotel to start your Private Athens Sightseeing & Cape Sounio Tour. You will visit Panathinaiko Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times took place in 1896. It is the only stadium built out of white marble. Proceeding, we will visit Zappeion and Temple of Olympian Zeus. You will then admire the Athens Trilogy which includes the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens, and the National Library. After a stop at the traditional area of Plaka for your lunch, we will follow the Mediterranean coastline known as “Athenian Riviera” (if you wish we will have a stop for panoramic photos) in order to reach at the second most popular site of the Greek capital “Cape Sounio” (especially during the afternoon hours when you can take the chance of the breathtaking sunset over the Aegean Sea!) and Temple of God Poseidon! Cape Sounio is located 70 km southeastern of Athens, at the southernmost spot of Athens. Sounio is noted as the site of ruins of an ancient Greek temple of Poseidon, the god of the sea in classical mythology. The remains are perched on the headland, surrounded on three sides by the sea. The duration of the tour is about 8-9 hours
