The statue was discovered by a Greek peasant in the current village known as Trypiti and due to its location being perched up on the hillside overlooking the sparkling blue Aegean Sea it is believed the statue could also have an affinity to “Amphitrite”, the mystical sea goddess.

Stop At: Adamas, Adamas, Milos, Cyclades, South Aegean
The tour begins in the bustling port town of Adamas where the group will gather to board the air-conditioned coach and meet their friendly tour guide. A brief introduction and description of the days plan will build some excitement in the group before officially departing. The coach will ascend up the meandering hill towards the capital and charming village of Plaka, where incredible views and photo opportunities await. Upon arrival, the group will have an opportunity to visit the Archeological Museum of Plaka where a replica of the statue can be admired and appreciated. The original is currently housed in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
After a brief visit to the museum, the group will enjoy a leisurely stroll up the cobblestone pathway in amongst decorative Cycladic homes. It is here where, in one of the traditional stone houses that the Venus De Milos was stored after her discovery.

After a brief visit to the museum, the group will enjoy a leisurely stroll up the cobblestone pathway in amongst decorative Cycladic homes. It is here where, in one of the traditional stone houses that the Venus De Milos was stored after her discovery.
The tour continues up towards the centre of Plaka, where a short stop at the famous Paleos Café will give the group the opportunity to live like the islanders and indulge in delicious watermelon pie. People can relax for a while and enjoy a frappe or refreshment at their will or wonder around and admire the breathtaking church of Panagia Korfiatissa in which a truly magnificent view awaits rivaling even that of Santorini. Near to the church is the “House of Brest”, where historically a French Officer admired the statue of Venus De Milo. Acknowledging her beauty and Gee he decided it to be a good idea to transfer the marble statue to France and present it to The King as a noble gesture and gift.

Stop At: Sand Museum, Plaka, 190 01 Greece
Upon Descending towards lower Plaka, the group will pass the internationally recognized “Sand Museum” which is home to incredibly creative works in which the artist infuses his love of the island with its natural resources. Upon reaching the square opposite the funky restaurant called “Fatses”, the group can relax under the trees before boarding the coach and heading towards the Ancient Site of the discovery of the Venus De Milos. Upon arriving at the site, the group will have a chance to admire the location and take a few pictures before strolling to the Ancient Roman Theatre, which is regarded as one of the most beautiful in all of Greece. The theatre is perched up on the hill overlooking the expansive bay of Adamas where sail yachts float in the distance and bigger boats enter the port. The group will have time to take pictures and ponder the beautiful view before returning by coach to the town of Adamas where the tour will reach its end.
