What makes Santorini Mini Wine Tasting Tour at 2 Wineries a unique experience ?
Your journey begins with a meet-up with your guide at the designated pick-up location. After booking, a member of our team will contact you with all the details. Please share any specific wine preferences you may have before your visit.
Before you reach the first winery, your guide will provide insights into Santorini’s unique viticulture. You will also stop at a vineyard to learn about Santorini’s distinctive techniques, including the renowned kouloura (basket).
From there, you’ll head to the first tasting room at Gaia Wines. This wine estate is located on a beach, on the east side of the island. Its industrial stone building was once a tomato factory, built at the beginning of the 1900´s and was used up until the 1970´s for making aromatic tomato purée from local cherry tomatoes. Today, it has been transformed into a modern winery with high-tech equipment and cutting-edge facilities that guarantee contemporary winemaking and ideal conditions for high-quality production.
The second winery visit will be to Argyros Estate. It was established in 1903, but the Argyros family had been involved in wine production for decades before that. It is the largest private owner of vineyards in Santorini, with current landholdings exceeding 120 hectares—a vast, four-generation-long investment.
You’ll leave with an understanding of why Santorini is renowned for its wines, having tasted them firsthand, and gained valuable insights into the world of wine, regardless of your level of expertise.
