Stop At: The Acropolis of Rhodes, Diagoridon 68, Rhodes Town 851 00 Greece
The Acropolis of Rhodes which is on the Monte Smith Hill is only 3 km away from the center of modern city. Unlike most ancient acropolis this one was not fortified. The construction on the hill started in 3rd century BC. Back then there were impressive temples, sanctuaries, public buildings and underground cult places. Archaeological excavations revealed us some traces of the lost beauty and now we can dive into the fascinating past of Rhodes history.

Stop At: Ancient Kamiros, Kalavarda Greece
On top of the hill there was the Acropolis with the Temple of Athena Kameiras. There was also huge reservoir which supplied with water around 400 families. Part of this system done from terracotta pipes and different tanks still can be visible. Later, on top of the reservoir was built magnificent Stoa. It consisted of two rows of Doric columns with the place for some shops and lodgings. amiros is priceless source of information about the people who lived here in the past. After walking along the remains of the former magnificent city we conclude that ancient society had their technologies, valued domestic comfort, had incredible art and relatively progressive political system. Sometimes Kamiros is compared with famous Pompeii.
