What makes Naxos Sunset Walking Tour a unique experience ?

It served as a protective shield to the impregnable fortress of Sanudo in Chora.
It was built under the supervision of Marco Sanudo (the Venetian conqueror after whom it was named), who came along with the establishment of Venetian sovereignty over the Aegean Sea in 1207.

On the beautiful island of Naxos in the Southern Aegean, you’ll find the Catholic Cathedral nestled within the historic Kastro (Old Town)Constructed during the Venetian rule, the cathedral was overseen by Duke Marco Sanudo.

The main port of Naxos is situated on the western side of the island, in the main town (Chora), near the signature local landmark – Portara.

The old market is in fact the area within the old castle walls at Naxos town. The streets are typically narrow with stone built walls that are lined with mostly tourist shops. This is probably the best place to go if travelling the island to find gifts for those back home is not your thing.

Naxos’ Temple of Apollo – Portara, a huge marble gate and the single remaining part of an unfinished temple of Apollo of 530 BC, is the island’s emblem and main landmark.
