Panagia Canyon Canyoning with pickup from Heraklion

Heraklion Trip Overview

A small but beautiful canyon, located in the same area as Tsoutouros canyon. Panagia is one of the narrowest canyons on the island, with completely vertical walls. It is an easy one, with small abseils but its impressive lapped walls will leave you breathless.

The approach is a challenging uphill on rocky terrain (some scrambling), but when we reach the top and enter the canyon, the abseils are continuous and soon we find ourselves inside a narrow corridor formed by the impressive walls. This is a beautiful and fun, technical canyon, suitable for beginners and children.

Itinerary

The canyon of Panagia (Virgin Mary), is located in the southern part of Crete, parallel to the gorge Xerofarago and takes its name after the former monastery of Panagia Keralimeniotissa located at its exit. The activity is suitable for training new explorers, since it is well belayed. Even the most demanding of you will be left speechless by its beauty.
You will be with an experienced, English speaking canyoning guide who will make sure you do the activity safely. We will provide a nice lunch after the activity.
