Stop At: Hatzidakis Winery, Pyrgos 84701 Greece
The first winery is located on a hill side below the village of Pyrgos and its surrounded by vineyards all around, one of the greenest places in the island. The winery is literally inside a big cave and this makes the perfect conditions for production and storing. Hatzidakis winery was the first to grow organically and is the only one that is officially certified for biologiacal cultivation in Santorini and all this make it a great start in our tour.

Gavalas family winery, one of the oldest wineries in Santorini, lies in the traditional village of Megalochori. A small winnery in terms of size as well as production that does not exceed 80.000 bottles annualy. Gavalas winery vinifies the most vibrant variety in greece, Assyrtiko as well as Aidani, Mavrotragano and Mandilaria. In order to show the ritchness of the land Gavalas is the only winery in Santorini that vinifies the indigenous rare varieties of Katsano and Voudomato. The aftertatse of this little winery is as authentic as it gets.

Estate Argyros has been established in 1903, but Argyros family has been involved in wine production long before that. Its the largest private owner of vineyards in Santorini and curent landholdings exceed 120 ha, a vast four generations long term investment. There is no doubt who is leading the wine industry in Santorini regarding the size of production, but recently Argyros family took a step further and renovated the whole estate to keep up with the demand as year after year Santorinian wines are getting more and more recognized and established in the world map of wine. The new estate makes a great impression from the very first moment, big, bright and spacious, indoor and outdoor areas for wine tasting overlooking the vineyards. A big variety of wines for you to try and a nice tour of the production and storing areas of this modernized Santorinian winery as well as a nice little shop for you to buy some gifts and even ship them to your beloved ones.
