Itinerary
As we arrive at Karanos we will make a stop at the village square, to visit a traditional kafenion. You can have something to drink and use the toilet.
When we are ready, our driver will bring us to the entrance of the gorge. This gorge is only 2km. long/short, depends on how you take it.
The gorge is hidden in the great shade of a little green forest, with astonishing natural beauty. Even throughout the dryness of summer times.
For healthy people without walking problems, crossing the gorge does not have a high difficulty level. Walking time approximately about 1.5hours. The path is going up and down next to a small river. We will meet a few caves, one at the beginning and a few at the end of the gorge.
At the exit of the gorge we will meet the river MAYROPILIOTIS and after ten minutes more walking we arrive at the meeting point where the driver is waiting to take us in a short time to the village of Meskla.
There we have the opportunity for lunch or a drink at a local tavern in the shadow of the trees. If you are not tired yet, the bus can bring us about 500m up to another miracle of nature. This will take about half-hour to go and return with unbelievable pictures!
