Stop At: Corinth Canal, Isthmia, Loutraki 201 00 Greece
Our first stop will be Corinth Canal. The Corinth Canal connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, arguably making the peninsula an island.

Stop At: Mycenae, Mycenae, Argolis Region, Peloponnese
Traveling by private bus, relax as you’ll drive along the beautiful Saronic Gulf. After, into the Peloponnese to the atmospheric hilltop ruins of Mycenae, a fortified city from the second millennium BC. See the famous Lion’s Gate, Tomb of Agamemnon and Palace.
Your second stop is the great Lion Gate, dating to the Greek Bronze Age and specifically the 13th century before our time. Note the huge rocks in and around the gate. Many weigh 20 tons, and there are building blocks in Mykines weighing up to 100 tons. Men and oxen were the “engines” they had at the time, but the walls are called “Cyclopean”, which says that they were once thought to be built by the Cyclopes, one-eyed giants who are frequent guests in Greek mythology.

On our way to Nafplion we will visit Palamidi fortress. This fortress was a very large and ambitious project, but was finished within a relatively short period from 1711 until 1714. In 1715 it was captured by the Turks and remained under their control until 1822, when it was captured by the Greeks. In order to reach the top of Palamidi, there are 857 steps, so you will enjoy a breathtaking view of Nafplio city and surroundings.

Castello dello Soglio was the first name of the Venetian castle, which along with Palamidi, is considered one of the landmarks of Nafplio. Nevertheless, the name that finally prevailed is Bourtzi, which in Turkish means « Island – Fort ».
The imposing island fort of Bourtzi off the coast of Nafplio was home to executioners for several decades, after it stopped serving a military purpose. Bourtzi, meaning tower in Turkish, was built by the Venetians, invaded by the Turks, and is now a part of Greece.
