Stop At: Steni, Steni, Tinos, Cyclades, South Aegean
Your day starts after we pick you up from your hotel or a point close to the indicated hotel if car access is not possible, and we will follow the national road heading towards Chalkida. Chalkida sits on the long narrow island of Evia and its very well know for the “Crazy Waters”, a unique phenomenon where the sea waters direction changes every six hours and in the middle remains stable for ten minutes. After our short stop in Chalkida we follow a route through villages and before Steni village our adventure part starts following a unique uncharted off-road route in the Chestnut forest. Wooded ridges, hills, a forest of chestnut and black pine trees that just seems to go on forever, give great opportunities for photo stops until we arrive at Byzantine chapel of Panagia Ampoudiotissa on foot of fir forest. A short visit to the chapel and to the natural water springs provides ideal scenery for relaxation. Continuing our day tour in the foot of the Dirfys Mountains we reach Kampia village and Saint Kiriaki Chapel under firs and by water springs.
Continuing our day tour crossing traditional villages in the slopes of Dirfys we work up an appetite as we arrive at Steni village. There we are going to visit a traditional Greek tavern where we will be welcomed by the owner. He will introduce us to the Greek Mediterranean cuisine and heartfelt Hellenic hospitality with plenty of local food and wine.
After our lunch break, we will follow the road through villages to reach Chalkida village and from there we follow the national road to Athens full of memories, with the best panoramic views of Evia and Dirfy Chestnut Mountain, amazing photo opportunities to capture each and every moment and the premium service of our escorts.
