The monuments of the Acropolis (the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Propylaia, and the Temple of Athena Nike), stand in harmony with their natural setting. The Acropolis of the 5th century BC is the most accurate reflection of the Splendour, power, and wealth of Athens at its greatest peak, the golden age of Perikles. In 1987 it was inscribed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
