Starting our trip from Nafplion, our first stop is the archaeological site of Mycenae. We will travel to the mythical Kingdom of Agamemnon, where one of the most brilliant cultures of Greek prehistory, the Mycenaean civilization, developed. We will then head to the Lions Gate, the monumental entrance of the palaces. Next, we will see the Cyclopean walls around the Acropolis, and the tholos tombs of Atreus and Clytemnestra’s, which are all must-see attractions for lovers of the ancient world. We continue the tour to ancient Epidaurus, where we explore the ancient theatre of one of the most famous archaeological monuments in Greece. We will also visit the Asclepieion of Epidaurus, which was the centre of healing serious diseases for the whole of ancient Greece. Many monuments developed around it, most notably the temple of Asklepios, Tholos and others.

A day trip from Athens to see Thermopylae and Delphi is an unforgettable experience. You'll see a different side to this Puglian town by visiting the district of Aia Piccola, meeting a couple who live in a ‘trullo' and tasting local food. The best part about this tour is that you'll visit Alberobello in the afternoon, after all the crowds have left for the day. And instead of simply seeing its highlights, you'll discover the real Alberobello by wandering around the tiny streets of the Aia Piccola neighbourhood, home to the white ‘trulli' houses, which are characterised by their conical shape. You'll meet an elderly couple who still live in one before dropping in at a traditional enoteca, Tholos. The region that was destined to give birth to one of antiquity’s most important civilizations, the Mycenaean. The “cyclopean walls” of the citadel of Mycenae, impressively intact to this day, highlight the heyday of a civilization brought to light by Heinrich Schliemann. A civilization that served as inspiration to the great ancient tragedians that subsequently helped shape western thought. The Lion Gate, a remarkable example of Mycenaean sculpture; grave circle A with its shaft tombs and golden funerary finds; the palace atop the citadel with its throne room; the underground water cistern with its ornate stairs and the beehive tombs (“tholos”) all give proof of the grandeur of an era that has left indelible marks throughout the ages.

Your day will begin with a personal pickup by your English-speaking driver from your accommodation in Athens and you will start the to Delphi – the mythical center of the world. The ride is customizable and together with your driver, you can select the points of the visit and the time you want to allocate in each stop. There is always a suggested itinerary to follow but you are free to edit the route according to your preferences. We will begin to walk uphill along the coast, towards Sa Perda Stampada, a rock with a hole through which it is possible to admire the Coccorrocci beach; we will continue going down towards Foxi Manna, passing by the rock Su Brecconi and Cala Niedda. We will then visit the Nuraghe Aleri, a tholos nuraghe, built between 1500 and 1200 BC, which has an irregular five-lobed shape. After a break for lunch we will set off again, going up the south-western side of Punta Cartucceddu towards the Piscine di Monte Ferru, beautiful natural ponds carved by the erosion of the stream in the red porphyry rock. We will take a little break to freshen up before returning to the starting point.

We will be back in Athens late in the afternoon.
