Join us for a beautiful day as we depart from Chania and head toward the scenic Imbros Gorge — a hidden gem perfect for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts. Before we begin our adventure, we’ll treat you to a taste of tradition with a delicious Sfakiani pie. Around 10:00 AM, we’ll enter the gorge and start our hike.The walk through Imbros Gorge takes approximately 2.5 hours (depending on your pace) along a stunning, easy-to-moderate trail surrounded by breathtaking rock formations, wild nature, and serene landscapes. Our hike ends at the charming Komitades village, where time seems to slow down. After the hike, we continue to Sfakia village, where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear sea and enjoy a traditional Cretan lunch by the water !After a day full of discovery and experiences, relax and enjoy a peaceful ride back to Chania aboard our comfortable bus, taking with you memories of Crete’s incredible beauty.

The tour will star with a pick up form your hotel or a nearby point. After approximately 1,5 hour drive through a beautiful landscape, we reach the picturesque village of Sougia. From there we will continue our tour with boat following the coastline to the Village of Agia Roumeli ! During your stay in the village you will have plenty of time to cross Samaria Gorge from its exit to the Iron Gates. The distance you can walk is 3 km form the village to the entrance of gorge and 1,5 km further up to the Iron Gates , one of the most interesting points of the gorge! Late in the afternoon we will take the same boat to get back to the port of Chora Sfakion where our coach will be waiting for us in order to drive back to Chania .

A true miracle that any nature lover must experience. Samaria Gorge is the longest gorge in Europe, measuring 16 km, giving you the opportunity to meet rare structures and species of the Cretan flora and fauna like the unique goat species named Kri-Kri that one can only find in Crete. Through a beautiful route among small traditional mountainous villages you reach Xyloskalo in the plateau of Omalos, the northern entrance of the gorge at an altitude of 1,250 m. As you keep walking you will pass from the “Sideroportes” (Iron doors) the narrowest point of Samaria, ending at the shores of the Libyan Sea in Agia Roumeli where you can definitely rest, eat and swim. It is exactly what you need! Apart from this, during your hike there are a lot of interesting historical points like the temple of Apollo, giving you a great combination of nature and Greek History.

Hike through one of the worlds greatest natural wonders. From Omalos at a hight of 1235 m the gorge of Samaria cuts 16 km through the landscape. The gorge is situated in the Samaria National park. It is 150 m at its widest point and 3 m at its narrowest. It is home to over 450 species of plants and animals, that can only be seen in Crete. The gorge starts from Xyloskalo and continues down to the sea level in the village of Agia Roumeli at the Libyan sea. The village of Samariá lies inside the gorge to make way for the park and particularly as a refuge for the rare Cretan goat, Kri-Kri or Agrimi, which is largely restricted to the park. After a strenuous but spectacular walk, we travel by boat – an equally beautiful trip – from Agia Roumeli to Chora Sfakia where our bus will be waiting.
